Fox News Channel anchor Bret Baier and his family were treated and released from a Montana hospital after an icy-road car crash Monday. “Don’t take anything for granted – every day is a blessing and family is everything,” Baier tweeted Monday.

Baier and his family, Fox News reported Tuesday, was “banged up, but alive” following the “major” auto crash Monday morning. The family — Baier, his wife and two sons — was heading to an airport following a weekend ski trip when the car skidded on ice and flipped.

“After a weekend of skiing with my wife and two boys in Montana, driving to the airport Monday morning on icy roads, we were involved in a major car crash,” Baier said in a statement released today. “Thanks to a man driving by named Zach who stopped and helped, we were able to climb out of the flipped car. And thanks to the first responders and Montana Highway Patrol – we made it to the hospital quickly.

“We are very grateful to all of those who helped us out. My advice to everyone is to always wear your seatbelt and to count your blessings everyday.”

Yesterday, Baier tweeted, “Don’t take anything for granted – every day is a blessing – and family is everything. It’s always good to remind yourself of that – before something does it for you.”

Earlier this month, Baier signed a new multiyear deal with Fox News Channel, where he’ll remain as anchor and executive editor of Special Report. The 6 PM ET show marks its 10th anniversary this month.
