Fox Valley Mall To Reopen Monday With Limited Hours, Capacity

AURORA, IL — After more than two months, shoppers will once again be allowed inside Fox Valley Mall starting Monday. The shopping center closed in March due to the coronavirus pandemic but is set to reopen its doors with safety restrictions and limits on the number of shoppers, according to a report by the Aurora Beacon-News.

The Fox Valley Mall is set to be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Saturday and from 12-6 p.m. on Sundays. For the first 30 days after reopening, the mall will limit occupancy to half of its normal capacity to ensure social distancing can be maintained, and shoppers will be greeted at the doors by workers offering hand sanitizer, masks and gloves, the report states.

Not all stores in the mall will be open, as some do not have enough merchandise in the store, but shoppers will see a new store when the mall reopens Monday, after Pandora opened on the lower level of the mall, according to the report.

The malls’ food court will be open but there will be no tables, as vendors are only offering meals for takeout, the report states.
