Foxtail Coffee opens in Ponte Vedra Beach, offering coffee, breakfast, lunch — and ice cream
Freshly brewed coffee, espresso and teas along with gourmet ice cream top the menu of the newly opened Foxtail Coffee in Ponte Vedra Beach.
The restaurant at 260 Tourside Drive at Sawgrass Village shopping center is the first of two Northeast Florida Foxtail Coffee shops from franchise co-owners Ty Claggett and Doug Tutwiler.
The second will be in East San Marco, the long-planned, Publix-anchored retail center under construction at Atlantic Boulevard and Hendricks Avenue in Jacksonville's historic San Marco where Claggett said they plan to open in November or December.
Since Foxtail's opening in Ponte Vedra Beach, customers have been lining up for the shop's coffee and pastries, Claggett said.

"It has been so much fun to connect with the Ponte Vedra Beach community and we are beyond excited to have our doors finally open to serve fresh Foxtail Coffee, breakfast and lunch offerings," he told the Times-Union.
Featured beverages include freshly brewed espresso drinks, coffees — both cold brews and hot — fruit-flavored and herbal teas, hot chocolate and sparkling water. Beer and wine will also be offered.
To eat, Foxtail Coffee offers breakfast sandwiches on bagels, biscuits, croissants and English muffins as well as quiches, pastries, cookies, a hazelnut doughnut and chocolate croissant, the online menu shows.

In addition to those offerings, the coffee shop also offers Kelly's Homemade Ice Cream, he said.
Headquartered in Orlando, Kelly's has its own counter inside Foxtail Coffee shops where it offers its rich ice cream, sorbets, non-dairy (oat-based), milkshakes, floats, flights and more, according to its website.
The handcrafted ice cream will be shipped directly to the Sawgrass coffee shop from Kelly's flagship store in Orlando, Claggett said.
At Foxtail, customers can expect to find Kelly's signature Ore-Dough, Cookie Monster, Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie and others, he said. Other popular favorites include Banana Pudding, Blondie, Cake Batter N' Sprinkles, Caramel Scotchie, Mexican Chocolate, Rose Almond Pistachio and Lemon Cream Pie, the online menu shows.
Other offerings include Espresso Milkshakes and Affogatos, an Italian coffee-based dessert, its website shows.

At roughly 1,300 square feet, Foxtail Coffee Ponte Vedra Beach has 24 seats indoors plus another 24 outside on a covered patio.
At East San Marco, Foxtail Coffee "is progressing on schedule and plans are nearly finalized," Claggett said.
At about 2,000 square feet, that shop will be larger than the Ponte Vedra Beach location.
Both will offer the same menu.
East San Marco will also offer Kelly's Homemade Ice Cream, local beer and wine, and an open layout with accordion doors opening to a large, covered patio, Claggett said.
The addition of the Ponte Vedra Beach and East San Marco coffee shops will raise Foxtail Coffee's footprint to at least 38 stores throughout Florida and Georgia, according to the company's website.
The coffee company was founded in 2016 by lifelong friends Alex Tchekmeian and Iain Yeakle, who met as kindergarten classmates in South Florida.
In addition to its cafes, Foxtail Coffee also offers bags of fresh roasted beans at its stores and online.
Foxtail Coffee is open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
