Framingham High Principal Carolyn Banach extends leave, is unlikely to return

FRAMINGHAM Carolyn Banach, Framingham High School's principal for the past six years, has extended the leave she took from earlier this school year and will not return before classes conclude in June, Superintendent Robert Tremblay confirmed.

Banach has been on family medical leave since the fall. Tremblay said she has extended that leave until the end of the school year.

"She's out for the rest of the year and she's not likely to come back," the superintendent said.

Amy Gerade, the district's director of curriculum, instruction and assessment, has served as acting principal since Banach has been on leave and remain in that position throughout the rest of the school year.

"I've hired her twice as principal," said Tremblay, who was superintendent in Milford (and then Weston) prior to coming to Framingham.
