FRAMINGHAM, MA — It's a celebration of extra space in your filing cabinet.

Framingham will host a paper-shredding festival for city resident in August. Residents can bring sensitive documents to the recycling center, 255 Mount Wayte Ave., to have them destroyed. The shred-fest was supposed to happen earlier this spring, but was postponed due to coronavirus.

The event is free for any resident with a recycling permit. A donation of canned food can be used if you don't have a permit.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 2.
