British designer Paul Surridge is leaving his job at Z Zegna, where he will be replaced by former Jil Sander Menswear head designer Francesco Muzi.
Before joining Jil Sander, menswear specialist Muzi worked for Valentino, Prada and Miu Miu. According to Zegna, the Z Zegna line will continue under Muzi, mixing sportswear and formal wear with a contemporary edge.
Changes have been afoot at the Italian brand for a while, with the company combining Z Zegna with fellow designer Murray Scanlon's Zegna Sport line last season. The relaunch was feted at Pitti Uomo in June with a runway show.
Surridge spent three years at Z Zegna, joining in 2011, taking the place left by Alessandro Sartori (himself off to spearhead the new menswear collection at Berluti), having previously worked with Burberry and Calvin Klein.
