Franchise focused: Lubbock entrepreneur expanding cleaning business to Colorado, Austin and beyond

Brandt Stravlo's entrepreneurial spirit is clean, but contagious - spreading around the state and region. And he doesn't want to stop.

In 2012, the Texas Tech alum and Lubbock resident got into the franchise business, opening Tide Cleaners in the Hub City, along with several other chains.

Now, he is expanding into central Texas, launching his own Tide Cleaners shops in the Austin area after seeing successful growth into Colorado in recent years.

Stravlo, Chief Operating Officer of EDIT CLEAN, LLC, lives in Lubbock while operating 16 full-service Tide Cleaners in Austin, Lubbock, and Colorado.

"We’d like to have over 10 store locations in greater Austin," Stravlo said. "This market continues to have tremendous growth and we want to take the burden of dry cleaning and laundry away from residents by bringing superior convenience, customer service and quality in out-of-home cleaning."

Stravlo, along with business partner Justin Sharbutt, joined Conquer the Day in 2012. CTD went on to open several franchises, including Tide Cleaners, Burger Fi and Dunkin Donuts. The duo opened their first Tide Cleaners in Lubbock in 2015.

"Justin and I read about an opportunity in Entrepreneur magazine titled ‘Now Franchising Tide Cleaners,’ which quickly caught our eye," Stravlo said. "We called that day, and by the very next week, we were in Cincinnati for Discovery Day."

Stravlo hopes to continue expanding Tide Cleaners and aims to have 100 storefronts by 2032.
