Franciscan Health welcomes baby Jose as first born in New Year

LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The first baby of 2023 waited until well after lunchtime Sunday to make his appearance.

Born at Franciscan Health Center for Women and Children in Lafayette, Jose Molina-Avillatoro, Jr. was born at 3:46 p.m. on New Year's Day. Jose weighed 8 pounds, 11.7 ounces.

His parents are Ingris Posada Esqu ivel and Jose Molina-Avillatoro of Brook, Ind., who, according to the hospital, received a gift basket from the hospital Gift Shop and Franciscan Health Auxiliary Lafayette.

Jose was delivered by Dr. Katie Towles with Franciscan Physician Network Obstetrics & Gynecology.
