FOXBOROUGH, MASS. - Frank Reich often says that everyone on the team gets evaluated after every game.

After a 26-3 loss to the Patriots that featured the worst offensive efficiency in franchise history, he's sticking to that promise -- even with the quarterback.

"Everything gets evaluated. But would we look at anything else? I can't say that right now," Reich said after a loss that dropped his team to 3-5-1 when asked about the quarterback position. "I'd have to go back and look. It's hard for me to look at anybody else right now. I've got to do a better job."

INSIDER: 10 thoughts on the Colts' beatdown loss to the Patriots

Sam Ehlinger completed 15 of 29 passes for 103 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception on Sunday. The second-year, sixth-round pick out of Texas finished with a quarterback rating of 45.6, the second-lowest of any Colts game this season, behind Matt Ryan's 34.0 mark in the first game against the Jaguars, when two starting wide receivers were out.

Ehlinger played this game without All-Pro running back Jonathan Taylor. He took nine sacks, some of which he put on himself after the game. But the offense never threatened, finishing with 2.01 yards per play, the lowest total in the franchise's history in Indianapolis. The Colts were 0-14 on third downs.

This was Ehlinger's second start since the team benched Ryan. His first went significantly better, as he finished 17 of 23 for 201 yards and a rating of 100.1. But through two starts, he has yet to throw a touchdown pass.

Ryan has been nursing a Grade 2 shoulder separation and has not practiced the past two weeks. It's unclear whether he'll be physically ready this week. He hasn't played well when he's been healthy this season, throwing nine touchdowns against nine interceptions to go along with 11 fumbles. He has led the Colts to victories in three fourth-quarter comebacks.

The Colts also have Nick Foles. The former Super Bowl MVP has yet to take a snap this season.
