Franklin woman killed in German Twp. crash that seriously injured 8-year-old son

Aug. 9—A Franklin woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash late Saturday night that seriously injured her 8-year-old son after police say she was struck by an impaired driver.

The crash victim was identified as 24-year-old Kelsey Slivinski on Wednesday by the Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger.

German Twp. police responded around 11:15 p.m. to the crash that happened on state Route 4, between the Butler County line and Eby Road.

Cristian Jesus Castillo Villajuarez, 20, of Middletown was driving a 2007 Cadillac Escalade north on state Route 4 when it went left of center and struck a 2012 Ford Focus driven by Slivinski of Franklin, according to a German Twp. Police Department crash report.

Slivinski was pronounced dead at the scene and her 8-year-old son was flown to Dayton Children's.

Castillo Villajuarez was taken to Miami Valley Hospital and his passenger, a 23-year-old Middletown woman, was taken to Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, both with serious injuries.

Police indicated that alcohol was a suspected factor in the crash, according to the report.

Castillo Villajuarez was booked Sunday into the Montgomery County Jail for aggravated vehicular homicide, aggravated vehicular assault and OVI but formal charges have not been filed.
