Could we see Kelsey Grammer popping in for a pint in the Queen Vic or the Rovers Return at some point? Well, surprisingly, it's not outside the realms of possibility.

The Frasier star has admitted he'd like a role in a British soap, dubbing them "classy" and urging bosses to give him a call.

"I love them all, of course I do," he told the Daily Star. "They are just so classy and superbly made. If any of them are ever looking to cast a very eager American, then can they please give me a call."

Of course, British soaps aren't unfamiliar with A-list cameos, with megastars popping up in various shows over the years. Coronation Street, for example, has seen cameos by Ian McKellen, Prince Charles and even Cheryl.

We haven't had many big US stars just yet, though if Sigourney Weaver can appear on British TV in Doc Martin, we're sure there's a place for Grammer in the square or on the cobbles.

Meanwhile, Grammer recently opened up about a planned Frasier reboot, admitting to Digital Spy that the show would not need to be updated for 2019.

"I think we may have told two jokes [over 11 seasons] that relied on people knowing what year we were in," he said.

"That is why I think it's a timely show forever. I don't think comedy that relies on somebody knowing exactly what happened yesterday in the news will last."
