Frat House From Zac Efron Movie Neighbors Hits the Market
A charming Los Angeles Craftsman-style home used as the infamous frat house from the 2014 comedy Neighbors and its 2016 sequel, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, is currently on the market for $1.5 million. Situated in the West Adams neighborhood, the 3,873-square-foot property stood in for the fraternity house where Zac Efron’s character and his pals threw raucous parties (Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne played the new parents who lived next door).
According to Realtor.com, the current owners bought the house for $690,000 in 2012, but had to evacuate for several months during filming. The money that they made from production went right back into restoring the home into a stunning property that fuses classic architecture with modern amenities. Among the updates they made to the home: landscaping, a new roof, and the addition of central heating.
The house stands three stories tall, with five bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. Hardwood floors abound, as do wide wooden door frames that connect the spacious living areas. Instead of a living room, there are two sitting rooms that previously served as formal parlors, and the dining room, painted a bright, bold red, and boasting built-in display shelves and drawers on one wall. The kitchen, which has been substantially upgraded with patterned tile countertops and white cabinetry, opens out onto an outdoor dining deck. Four of the five bedrooms are situated on the second floor, with the fifth occupying much of the third floor, with a half bathroom to boot. On the subterranean level, the basement offers a wine/beer cellar ideal for entertaining guests and escaping the summer heat. Out back, the property is rounded out with a slender saltwater pool and attached hot tub, as well as raised vegetable beds, a pergola, and a taproom.
