Ronald Acuna had two special fans in the stands at Truist Park to watch him and the Braves on Friday night.
A father and his 5-year-old son traveled from their home in Guatemala to Atlanta to attend their first baseball game and watch the Braves’ star outfielder, his son’s “idol.”
As it turns out, they picked a perfect game to make the trip.
Acuna had four hits in their 8-1 win against the Philadelphia Phillies, and hit a deep home run in the fifth inning.
The two, of course, were ecstatic.
This is my 5yo at his first baseball game on friday night. We flew all the way from Guatemala, Central America just so he could see his idol @ronaldacunajr24 His reaction to Acuñas HR was priceless, it's ok i cried too! @KevinMcAlpin @Braves @AaronChewning RT #fortheloveofthegame pic.twitter.com/Cnxuw4Uw4b

Acuna saw the emotional video on Sunday afternoon on Twitter, and couldn’t help but reply.
This is the part of the game that I love the most! Thank you and the little one for the video and I hope I can bring more moments like this! 🙏🏾 https://t.co/SZHpO0mUAc

Freddie Freeman surprises young Phillies fan
That wasn’t the only heartwarming moment on Friday night in Atlanta.
First baseman Freddie Freeman hit a two-run homer of his own in the win, though the ball was retrieved by young Phillies fan Joshua Scott — after a bit of trouble — and his dad, James, in the outfield stands.
Joshua, after finally tracking down the ball, then ran up and gave it to another young Braves fan who was wearing a Freeman jersey.
Freddie Freeman hit a home run for the Brave’s and a father and son in Phillies gear retrieved it.
Then the son turned right around around and gave the ball to a young Brave’s fan.

On Sunday, James and Joshua returned to Truist Park where they got to meet Freeman and get a signed ball from both him and Bryce Harper.

It’s early in the season, but the Braves are clearly off to a great start.
