Freddy's Frozen Custard is opening a second Louisville location. Here's where
Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is opening a second Louisville location in Fern Creek.
The restaurant will open in a former Frisch's Big Boy located at 6209 Bardstown Road, according to plans filed with Louisville Metro Government. The 5,233-square-foot store will have about 94 seats.
Louisville's first Freddy's location opened in Middletown at 12929 Shelbyville Road in June, the first in a multi-unit franchise agreement to develop seven Louisville restaurants over the next few years.
Freddy's is known for its cooked-to-order steakburgers, all-beef hot dogs, crispy shoestring fries and frozen custard treats made with freshly churned chocolate or vanilla frozen custard.
"If you are new to Freddy's, the Original Double is a signature favorite that we like to recommend," franchise owner Renee Williams said previously. "It's crafted with two thinly-pressed steakburger patties topped with cheese, mustard, pickle planks and onion slices. The burger is served on a toasted bun alongside our crispy shoestring fries, or you can opt to try our crunchy onion rings or white cheddar cheese curds as a side."
Freddy's was founded in Wichita, Kansas in 2002 and has more than 430 locations across 36 states.
