Here’s how to get free Buffalo Wild Wings if the Super Bowl goes into overtime

Sorry, Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers fans, but chicken lovers may be rooting for a nail-biter of a Super Bowl.

Buffalo Wild Wings announced Tuesday that it will give everyone in America free chicken wings if the Super Bowl goes into overtime.

The Chiefs and 49ers will play for the Lombardi Trophy on Feb. 2 in Miami. If the game goes into overtime, Buffalo Wild Wings says it will give away a free snack-sized order of boneless or traditional wings on Feb. 17.

Just pop into any participating location in the U.S. or Canada between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., the company says. There’s no purchase necessary, but the offer will only be available on dine-in orders.

The order will have five or six wings depending on location, according to a news release.

“Football fans love to have fun with our established connection to overtime, tweeting at us any time a game goes to extra time. That was taken to the next level last year when free wings were on the line, so we knew we had to bring this program back,” chief marketing officer Seth Freeman said in a news release. “More football AND free wings? Now that’s something all football fans can get behind and root for on February 2!”

As for the odds of the Super Bowl going into overtime?

Oddsmakers in Las Vegas say there’s about a 10 percent chance of overtime for Super Bowl LIV, online sports betting site BetMGM says. The moneyline for the game extending into overtime is +875. That means that for a $100 bet, you’d net $975, including your stake, according to the release.

Plus, America was only 15 minutes away from nabbing free wings last year, Buffalo Wild Wings says. The score was tied at 3 going into the fourth quarter until the New England Patriots pulled away, ultimately defeating the Los Angeles Rams 13-3.
