Free COVID rapid tests, KN95 masks available in Steuben, Allegany counties. Here's where

Steuben and Allegany county residents can pick up masks and up to three boxes of COVID-19 rapid tests at public libraries during business hours, starting Wednesday Jan. 5 until the free supplies run out.

Darlene Smith, Steuben County Public Health Department director, said the department has partnered with the Southern Tier Library System to distribute free KN95 masks and rapid test kits in those counties.

“Testing, masking and getting vaccinated and boosted remain the most powerful tools we have against COVID-19,” Smith said. “We highly recommend everyone take advantage of these free supplies available in your community.”

Test kits and masks are also available at the Steuben County Public Health Office in Bath, 8:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Additional distribution sites will be announced as supplies come in.
