Free fishing weekend invites anglers to fish without license June 4-5

May 30—DICKINSON — Fishing and conservation are closely linked, and the marriage of these two can be witnessed in full grandeur along the Western Edge of North Dakota.

North Dakota is famous for its lakes and rivers. Walleye fishing in the state is among the best in the nation, but there are other whoppers out there such as Northern Pike, Bass, Perch and even Catfish. Whether by boat, on shorelines or atop ice, North Dakota offers many options for those seeking to drop a line.

Free fishing weekend, when all residents can fish any North Dakota water without a license, will begin on June 4 at sunrise and end on June 5 at sunset.

Western North Dakota isn't home to such a wide variety of excellent fishing by happenstance. The area is chocked-full of all the necessities needed for an
