Hinds County seniors received free food during a Christmas giveaway in Pocahontas. There were several organizations that partnered together to make this possible. The Community Action Committee took part, as well as the Pocahontas Volunteer Fire Department, Molina Health Care, Tyson Foods, Kroger, and others. (WJTV)
Children’s of Mississippi patients will receive a plane-load of teddy bears Monday. Nicholas Air will fly over the bears collected during the air service's Stuff the Plane Teddy Bear Drive. They want to ensure the patients don't miss out on Christmas this year. (WJTV)
A 67-year-old husband died in a Rankin County fire on Friday night. The man's wife was able to escape the fire and survived. The cause is still unknown. (WAPT Jackson)

The Jackson Zoo shared that its "7th Wild of Christmas" is 7 prairie dogs. Their exhibit is not public at the moment, but it will hopefully be visible in the Spring. The Zoo is open for visitors and has gifts available for purchase in the zoo shop. (Facebook)
The Mississippi Department of Transportation shared that road construction involving lane closures will stop for the holiday season. Construction will stop on Dec. 24 and pick back up on Jan. 3. (Facebook)
