Free grocery store at middle school in metro Atlanta hopes to reduce food insecurity
There is now a free grocery store at Pointe South Middle School in Jonesboro.
Officials told Channel 2 Action News the store will provide healthy food for students and their families.

The goal of the store is to reduce food insecurity. According to Feeding America, more than a million Georgians struggle with hunger, 360,000 are children.
“Their families are really in need of it and what a way to support them than having somewhere they can go and shop,” said Maria Henriquez, marketing director with Amerigroup Georgia said.
