Free health screenings to be held at Augusta-area Walmart pharmacies

Free health screenings and affordable immunizations will be available at Walmart pharmacies in Richmond and Columbia counties.

Walmart will play host to Wellness Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 19 to coincide with the beginning of the school year and the upcoming flu season.

Customers can receive free screenings for glucose levels, cholesterol levels, body mass index, blood pressure and, at select locations, vision. Also, modestly priced immunizations will be offered, including for flu, measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox, whooping cough, hepatitis A and B, respiratory syncytial virus, human papillomavirus and tetanus. COVID-19 immunizations will be offered free of charge.

Walmart pharmacies have played host to Wellness Days since 2014, contributing more than 5 million free health screenings.
