NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Those lucky enough to live close to big-time NCAA basketball programs don't always have the chance to see their sports heroes in person, but in the Hudson Valley, the dream is not only within reach — it also comes free of charge.
Sharing in the spirit of the holidays, Iona College is inviting friends and fans from local communities to join in the excitement of the men’s basketball season as the Gaels and Hall of Fame Coach Rick Pitino take on Siena College at 1 p.m. on December 31.
Fans can use the promo code NEIGHBORS for free general admission seating for the entire family.
NCAA aficionados around the globe have watched them in primetime, but here is a chance to cheer on the Gaels live and in person. The Iona Men's basketball team is undefeated at home and will be looking to continue their winning streak on New Year's Eve.
Seats typically sell out quickly for men’s basketball at the Hynes Athletics Center while Iona students are on campus, but since students are home for the holidays, Iona is taking the opportunity to open up the action to friends and neighbors in the community. Iona also recently acquired a new campus in Bronxville, and the college said they would especially like to welcome new neighbors to enjoy some family fun to close out the year.
