Free music and fireworks to light up park July 4

If you are looking for an exciting way to celebrate July 4 on a "high note," make plans to attend the Oak Ridge Community Band's Independence Day concert at A.K. Bissell Park on Tuesday evening and stay to watch the city's fireworks show.

Large crowds are traditional for the July 4 performance, so come early, bring chairs or blankets for outdoor seating, and enjoy the music and fireworks! Providing refreshments during the concert will be Razzleberry’s Ice Cream Lab.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m., and there is no admission fee. The music program will be a variety of selections with patriotic, jazz, big band, contemporary, Broadway, and classical.

Band member and guest director Arthur Acres will conduct “Oregon,” and Community Band leader Shaun Salem will direct patriotic numbers “The Washington Post,” “The Stars and Stripes Forever,” and “American Salute” based on the popular Civil War Song “When Johnny Comes Marching Home.”

Oak Ridge Community Band's Independence Day concert starts at 7:30 p.m. on July 4, 2023, at A.K. Bissell Park.
