Free pop-up medical clinic planned for Penns Valley this weekend. Here’s what to know

A free, two-day clinic for dental, vision and medical services is scheduled for Penns Valley this weekend.

Remote Area Medical, a nonprofit provider of pop-up clinics to provide free medical services for those in need, will be at the Penns Valley Elementary Intermediate School, 4528 Penns Valley Road, Spring Mills, on Saturday and Sunday.

Every patient attending the clinic will be offered free medical services in addition to free dental or vision services. The clinic is open to the public and no ID is required.

Services available at the clinic include dental cleanings, dental fillings, dental extractions, dental X-rays, eye exams, eye health exams, eyeglass prescriptions, eyeglasses made on-site, women’s health exams and general medical exams, according to a press release. Lab work will also be available. Due to time limitations, patients should “be prepared” to choose between dental and vision services, the release states.

Services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and those who want services — especially dental — are encouraged to arrive as early as possible. The parking lot for patients will open no later than 11:59 p.m. Friday and will remain open for the clinic’s duration. Once patients are in the parking lot, more information on the clinic’s opening process and next steps will be available.

The clinic’s closing time will vary based on the daily capacity.

In extreme circumstances (severe weather, volunteer cancellations, etc.), the parking lot may open earlier or a smaller number of patients may be served.
