Free potato oles for a year? They're up for grabs at Clarksville Taco John's grand opening on Riverside Drive

Taco John's has confirmed grand opening plans for its new Clarksville store at 955 N. Riverside Drive.

The popular quick-service restaurant is set to open its doors in the city's River District on Tuesday, May 31.

Construction is nearing completion and hiring is underway.

The new Taco John’s will highlight a fresh, new company look and feel, said a news release, featuring digital menu boards, free Wi-Fi and a double drive-thru, designed to make the service twice as fast.

Taco John's will soon open this new location on Riverside Drive.

Also on hand for the opening will be Austin Peay State University Athletics Director Gerald Harrison, the APSU cheerleaders and the Governor's mascot.

Customers are encouraged to arrive early for the grand opening because the first 100 guests will receive a golden ticket valid for a free small Potato Oles every week for one year.

As the first of a 10-store Taco John's development agreement with franchisee Kevin Newell of Supreme Tacos LLC, this opening will mark the fifth Taco John’s location in Tennessee and 373rd system-wide.

A second Clarksville Taco John's location is currently in development at 1800 Fort Campbell Blvd.

“We are very excited to continue growing our Tennessee presence and open our first location in Clarksville,” Newell said in prepared comments.

“We picked this location because of its proximity to popular areas including Austin Peay State University, McGregor Park and the Cumberland Riverwalk. We believe it will be the perfect destination for the community to come together and enjoy our bold take on Mexican fare before heading out for an adventure.

"We can’t wait to open our doors and start serving our signature menu to everyone in the area next week."

The Taco John’s menu offers several signature items, including Meat & Potato Burritos, Stuffed Grilled Tacos, Potato Olés and Fried Chicken Tacos.

Clarksville’s new Taco John’s will be open Sunday-Wednesday from 6 a.m.-10 p.m., and Thursday-Saturday from 6 a.m.-midnight.

Breakfast will be served every day from 6-10:30 a.m.
