Families in need of school supplies and other essentials ahead of the first day of school are invited to Amazing Grace Ministries’ back-to-school event on Saturday, Aug. 13 at 814-A Kanuga Rd. in Hendersonville.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., backpacks full of school supplies will be available to pick up. Food and clothing will also be given out to those who need assistance. Studio 64 will be on site to provide free haircuts, according to Amazing Grace Ministries.

Families will need to bring documentation to the event, including a driver’s license and the child’s social security card.

Everything will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. This is the seventh year Amazing Grace Ministries has hosted the back-to-school event.

The local nonprofit’s missions is to “offer support and hope to the working and suffering, elderly, and veterans in need of clothing, food, basic needs, and disaster relief.”
