Free tax filing assistance from Ent and United Way

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Ent Credit Union and Pikes Peak United Way are partnering to give educational counseling, budgeting assistance, and free tax filing assistance to the community.

Pikes Peak United Way said every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in February, Ent will offer credit and budget counseling to families in Southeast Colorado Springs, and the Family Succes Center will provide free tax filing assistance for families who make $60,000 or less through Volunteer Income Tax Assistance services.

Appointments are now open at seven locations including the Family Success Center at 1520 Verde Drive. VITA registrants are welcome to the one-on-one financial counseling sessions without registration and walk-ins are also welcome.

“We are committed to improving the financial quality of life for all, not just inside the walls of our service centers,” said Emma Protsik, supervisor of financial coaching at Ent Credit Union.

Pikes Peak United is adding this to its services, including adult education, the Sunnyside Market, and medical care through Peak Vista Community Health.
