Free Uber and cab rides are available to partygoers on New Year’s Eve in Jacksonville/St. Augustine

The personal injury law firm of Farah & Farah will be offering free Uber and cab rides to residents of St. Augustine and Jacksonville on New Year’s Eve with their Farah & Farah’s Safe Ride Home Program. The annual event, now in its eighth year, is designed to offer those who raise their glass filled with bubbly a safe ride home with a $50 Uber credit or a cab ride up to 30 miles from the rider’s pick-up location with zTrip and Clean Taxi services.

According to a recent press release, $50,000 was used in 7,000 free rides last year.

“Throughout our time practicing personal injury law, we have seen countless accidents on the roadways,” said Chuck Farah, senior partner at Farah & Farah. “This is why we worked to create an initiative to ensure people get home safely after celebrating the New Year.”

According to the National Safety Council, crashes on New Year’s Day average 11.6% higher nationally than any other holiday.

Farah & Farah’s New Years Eve Safe Rides credit will begin at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, and run until 4:00 a.m. on New Year’s Day.

Farah & Farah is also partnering with Jacksonville and St. Augustine area bars including Perfect Rack Billiards, Birdies, Southern Social, Hoptinger 5 Points, Hoptinger Jacksonville Beach and The Walrus.
