Freeport's newest retailer invites community to grand opening event with prizes, freebies
Pet Supplies Plus held its soft opening Oct. 13 but is coming back with a grand opening celebration Oct. 28 and 29.
And area pet lovers won't want to miss out on the prizes and giveaways at this new Freeport area shop. Here are some things to know about Pet Supplies Plus and the store's grand opening.
What is Pet Supplies Plus?
Pet Supplies Plus is the nation's largest independent pet store. There are more than 700 locations in more than 40 states. The stores sells pet foods, toys and supplies. The store in Freeport also features full-service pet grooming and pet washing stations.
Where is Pet Supplies Plus?
Pet Supplies Plus is at 1866 S. West Ave., which is part of the redevelopment of The Meadows Shopping Center. Other stories there include Marshalls, Five Below, Maurices, Hibbetts Sports and Anytime Fitness.
When is the store's grand opening?
The Freeport Pet Supplies Plus will hold a two-day grand opening event Oct. 28 and 29.
What will the grand opening feature?
The store will offer free nail trims, a free scoop of dog or cat food with food purchase and a free scoop of cat litter with purchase. Mystery scratch-off cards Oct. 28 and free Reford Naturals dog or cat food for the first 100 customers Oct. 29. Halloween photo station both days and in-store trick or treating. Raffle for a $250 gift card.

Yes. Not just on grand opening weekend but on all business days.

Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
