The National Weather Service issued a freeze warning across the Charlotte area from tonight through tomorrow morning.

Temperatures will be in the 40s during prime trick-or-treating hours, so just make sure Spider-Man and Elsa have some hoodies handy to stay warm.

2. What’s next for Carolina Place mall after it defaulted on $149M loan?

Yet another Charlotte-area mall is in financial trouble after defaulting on its loan payment.

Carolina Place mall owner Brookfield Properties defaulted on a $149 million loan debt, according to a CMBS report provided to The Charlotte Observer by commercial real estate research group CoStar. The loan maturity date was June 1, according to the report.

3. Toyota announces new $8B investment in NC battery plant & 3,000 additional jobs

Toyota announced this morning that it’s making a major investment in North Carolina.

The company said it’s investing an additional $8 billion to its under-construction battery plant in Randolph County. An additional 3,000 jobs are expected to be added as a result.

4. CLT airport to raise parking fees next week. Why the spike now?

If you’re traveling out of Charlotte Douglas International Airport in the coming weeks, you’ll need to pay a bit extra to park.

Starting on Nov. 6, parking fees for all lot and deck spaces are increasing. Airport officials say the rate changes are going into effect because of a growing number of local passengers and investment into the parking program.
