Freida Pinto will join Apple TV+’s hit series “Surface” for its second season.

Pinto, 38, will take on the role of Grace, Variety reported. Grace is the fiancée of a new character named Quinn, played by Phil Dunster (“Ted Lasso”).

In “Surface” Season 2, Grace “forms a special bond” with series protagonist Sophie (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), who has returned to London to learn more about her hometown and background. Grace also struggles with her engagement to Quinn, a member of the notorious Huntley family.

“Surface” Season 1, which premiered in July 2022, focused on Sophie, a woman in San Francisco who has extreme memory loss due to a traumatic head injury.

“As Sophie embarks on a quest to put the pieces of her life back together with the help of her husband and friends, she begins to question whether or not the truth she is told is in fact the truth she has lived. … 'Surface' is a story of self-discovery which contemplates if we are pre-programmed to become who we are, or if we choose our own identity,” an official description of the show reads.

The hit psychological thriller, which was created by Veronica West, was renewed for a second season in December 2022.

“I love playing Sophie and I can’t wait for fans and new audiences to join us as she enters the dangerous new world of her past in season two. As an actor and executive producer, it’s incredibly meaningful to be bringing this story home to London,” Mbatha-Raw told Apple last year.
