Fremont Bridge to close overnight Friday for repair work, SDOT says
Seattle’s Fremont Bridge will be closed overnight Friday as crews complete nighttime maintenance work to weld and repair the bridge’s metal deck grating, the Seattle Department of Transportation announced Tuesday.
The bridge will be closed to vehicles starting at 11:59 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday. However, people who are walking, biking, or rolling across the bridge will have access for 15 minutes at 1 a.m., 2 a.m., 3 a.m. and 4 a.m.
King County Metro bus service will be rerouted during this time, so riders are encouraged to plan extra travel time.
SDOT said the work is weather-dependent and would take place on Oct. 28 and 29 if additional time is needed.
