Fremont Community Theatre presents season awards

FREMONT - Fremont Community Theatre celebrated its annual awards on June 3 at the Terra Community College Neeley Center. Sixty-five members and cast and crew members of the 2022-2023 season were in attendance.

The top award, called The Stanley Award, was presented to Timothy Allen Bolton for the greatest contribution of time and effort as a member to the organization over the past season, according to a press release.

Bolton has been a member of FCT for 29 years. This season, he directed "The Play That Goes Wrong" for which he was also the technical director. He was also tech director for "Proof" and worked construction for "Avenue Q" and "School of Rock." His tools and construction abilities have been handy not only for shows, but also as the co-chair of the Buildings and Grounds Committee. Tim serves on the Tech Committee and is also the face and voice of FCT’s Box Office and Season Tickets.

Bolton is an actor and vocalist, and he contributed those talents as a member of the casts of "Avenue Q" and "School of Rock."

Hardy Awards: Kaje Holthouse and Melissa Sensmeier. Special Award: Robert Bell for his commitment and contributions to "Avenue."  Audience Choice Award: Aaron Brown.

Director Michael PJ Foos presented awards for the production of "Artichoke." Laurel Awards: Jeff Buchanan, Eric Crimmins, Cyndi Hineline, Cory Lachner, Delilah Foos Lessing, T.J. McKee, Jordyn Robinson, George Sherwood. Audience Choice Award: Jordyn Robinson.

Director Bradley A. Rowe presented awards for the production of "Proof." Laurel Awards: Tim Bolton, Randy J. Brown, Laura Hohman, Jacob Studebaker-Ellis. Hardy Award: Aaron Brown. Audience Choice Award: Laura Hohman.

Director Amy Wylykanowitz presented awards for the production of "School of Rock." Laurel Awards: Tim Bolton, Curtis Brown, T.J. McKee, Macy Merrill, Julie Pratt, Michael Sooy, Chess Venis, Bethany Wethington, Phil Wylykanowitz. Hardy Awards: Elijah Shiley, Jackson Smith, Mena Wylykanowitz. Audience Choice Award: Julie Pratt.

Other awards presented

Summer of 2022 Audience Choice Award winners were given to Kaleb Franks for the teen production of "Les Misérables" and Molly Brudzinski for the youth production of "The Lion King.. The income from the Audience Choice Awards supplied the funds for FCT’s Teen Collegiate Scholarships, which were presented to Clayton Sooy, Macy Merrill, and Kenzie Franks.

Final awards of the evening were presented to FCT’s special recipients. Robert Bell received the award for Outstanding Contributions to FCT’s Music. Kaje Holthouse was awarded the Outstanding New Member Award. Rick Holland of Holland CPA received the Outstanding Business Award for volunteering his accounting services to FCT.
