The frenzy to conquer Bangkok's 'biggest burger'

This Bangkok cafe isn't hosting your typical 10k race... it's far more caloric.

The challenge is a burger weighing around 13 pounds and slathered in fried onion rings, bacon and mayo.

It clocks in at ten thousand calories.

The mammoth sandwich went viral after YouTubers began challenging each other to down it.

So - Chris Steaks and Burgers in Thailand invented an endurance test to down the burger in nine minutes.

They promise a prize of 10,000 baht, around $330 dollars for anyone who can stomach it.

New challengers come through the door every day.

Pakorn Porncheewangkoon and his friends tried to step up, but failed.

"I will eat a burger at some point (in the future), but not any time soon because I was...I don't know what to say."

The cafe's owner claims it's the biggest burger in Thailand.

But he also frets the eating frenzy could cause someone to choke.

"I don't want all the customers to come in for challenge, but I want them to enjoy the burger. If you're asking whether I worry about them (choking on it), I would say yes, I worry, so that's why I have to warn them ahead of time."

For the curious and confident, the "6-kilogram Burger" sells for $82 dollars.
