Need some fresh air? 34 Lee County parks make their return after Hurricane Ian's wrath

Need to take a break and get a breath of fresh air? Lee County Parks and Recreation announced Tuesday afternoon that more than 30 parks have reopened for the first time since Hurricane Ian hit.

After assessing all parks throughout the county, officials have opened 34 locations; 24 with full amenities and 10 with limited amenities.

Locations with full amenities are:

  • Alva Community Center and Park, 21471 N. River Road, Alva

  • Boca Grande Community Center, 131 First St., Boca Grande

  • Caloosahatchee Creeks Preserve West, 17100 McDowell Drive, North Fort Myers

  • Charleston Park, 2541 Charleston Park Drive, Alva

  • Davis Boat Ramp, 2227 Davis Blvd., east Fort Myers

  • Harlem Heights Park, 7340 Concourse Drive, south Fort Myers

  • Hickey Creek Mitigation Park, 17980 Palm Beach Blvd., Alva

  • Imperial River Boat Ramp, 27551 S. Tamiami Trail, Bonita Springs

  • John Yarbrough Linear Park, 14608 Six Mile Cypress Parkway, Fort Myers

  • Schandler Hall Park, 419 Royal Palm Park Road, east Fort Myers

  • Telegraph Creek Primitive Paddle Craft Launch, 15700 N. River Road, Alva

  • Terry Park Administration Office, 3410 Palm Beach Blvd., east Fort Myers

  • Veterans Recreation Center and Park, 55 Homestead Road S., Lehigh Acres

Officials ask those to use caution when visiting these locations, follow posted signs and avoid areas marked with tape.
