Freshman Academy recognized

Mar. 1—The New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) has recognized the Clovis High School Freshman Academy for its outstanding bilingual and multicultural program.

According to a news release from the Clovis Municipal Schools office, bilingual students at the Freshman Academy demonstrated proficiency and significant gains during the past two years — excelling beyond the standards set by the state and earning them the distinction of an award-winning program.

The news release concluded with "Clovis Municipal Schools would like to thank parents, guardians, teachers, and all others who support and believes in the importance of Bilingual Education."

"In this ever-changing economy, being bilingual or multilingual, prepares our students for the competitive world. We welcome all languages and cultures as part of our district family and are fully committed to promoting our diversity."
