The Fresno County Sheriff's Office is looking for the family a former Stockton man who died in Fresno.

Pedro Villalta Lopez, 67, died soon after he arrived at a Fresno hospital, according to a Facebook post by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office on Wednesday.

"Little is known about him (Lopez) other than he has previously lived in Stockton, Calexico and Mexico," said the coroner's office Public Information Officer Tony Botti on Facebook.

Coroner's office staff were unable to find Lopez' relatives after looking though "numerous" personal records, the coroner's office said.

Deputies must notify immediate family members of Lopez' death before the coroner can release the body and allow Lopez to "have a proper burial," Botti said.

The coroner's office didn't report the date when Lopez died or why he went to the hospital. Calls, emails and a text to the coroner's office were not returned on Thursday.

Anyone with information about Lopez is asked to call the Fresno County Coroner’s Unit at 559-600-3400, extension 3; or email the Deputy Coroner Loretta Andrews at Loretta.Andrews@fresnosheriff.org.
