The fast start by the Fresno State football team in the New Mexico Bowl made fans wonder where was that in the last few weeks of the season?

The Bulldogs lost the last three games of the Mountain West and were selected to play in Albuquerque against New Mexico State on Saturday afternoon.

Fresno State rolled to a 37-10 victory for its fifth straight bowl victory.

The Bulldogs (9-4) started early and often, jumping to a 17-3 lead on a pair of touchdowns by Mike Keene. He finished the game with three touchdown passes.

Fresno State’s defense also had their way, too, recording four sacks and one interception.

The Bulldogs played without coach Jeff Tedford who stepped away due to ‘personal health concerns.’

Tim Skipper was the acting head coach.

Saturday’s outcome left fans confused. Even one fan mentioned how New Mexico State upset Auburn earlier in the season.

Even an Aggie fan felt New Mexico State was a better team.
