Fresno teens shooting at each other? Police investigate after one teen was killed, other injured

A teenager was killed and another teen injured Tuesday evening during a shooting that broke out near a swimming pool at a central Fresno apartment complex.

The incident happened some time before 6:15 p.m. when Fresno Police received multiple 911 calls for help at the Blackstone Acres apartments, located near the intersection of Sussex Way and Clark.

Upon arrival, Fresno Police said officers found one teen on the sidewalk of the apartment’s courtyard area.

The teen, believed to be around 16 years old, suffered from a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital. He was later pronounced dead.

Fresno Police said a second teen who’s believed to be part of the shooting was discovered to be at the hospital, too.

Police said that teen was taken to the hospital by a vehicle that matched a witness description of a possible vehicle that left the area of the apartment shooting.

That teen, who suffered gunshot wounds to his lower extremity, was in stable condition and detained.

However, police had yet to determine if the surviving teen was the person who shot and killed the other teenager.

“That’s unknown,” Lt. Zeb Price said. “We’re still trying to put it together.”

The detained teenager is believed to be in the age range of 14 to 16 years old, police said.
