Nottingham killer assaulted two people weeks before knife rampage but wasn’t arrested

Leicestershire Police confirmed that six weeks before Valdo Calocane took the lives of Barnaby Webber, Grace O’Malley-Kumar and Ian Coates, officers were called after the 32-year-old assaulted two security guards at a warehouse where he was working.

At the time, Calocane had already been on the run for several months after he failed to appear in court in August 2022 to face charges over assaulting a police officer in Nottingham.

UN employees sacked for alleged involvement in Hamas attack on Israel

The United Nations Relief and Work Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) says it has fired several employees following reports of their involvement in the Oct 7 Hamas attack on Israel.

The agency said in a statement on Friday it received information from Israel about the alleged involvement of some of its workers in the attacks.

King ‘doing well’ after procedure to correct enlarged prostate

The procedure has taken place, with the King now due to spend the night in hospital to recover.

A source said he is “doing well”, as the Queen left his bedside after six hours.
