Friday Faces: Sunset eyes are the most mesmerizing trend of the summer
Even though classic eye makeup looks like the brown smoky eye or the black winged cat-eye liner aren’t going anywhere any time soon (nor should they—we love ’em!), it can be fun to switch things up every now and then. While some may be in the “if it ain’t broke” camp when it comes to makeup looks, we like to go the experimental route. The look we’re currently lusting after? Sunset eyes.
The trend is just as gorgeous as its name suggests. This bright and dreamy take on the classic smoky eye uses shades of orange, pink, copper, yellow, and red to create a finished look that resembles, duh, a sunset. You can stick to matte shades all over, or play with different textures and finishes by incorporating glitters into the layered look.
No matter what your eyeshadow preference, sunset eyes are sure to turn heads this summer. Browse some of our favorite examples of the look on Instagram below.

For a more subtle take on the trend, mix different burnt shades of copper and orange, and play with different finishes and textures.
