Showers and storms move in from Northern Georgia & Alabama and impact our western mountain counties first before leaking down into Uptown. Pockets of moderate and heavy rain will impact our morning commute before tapering off near lunch time. We can see another round of showers move through early this afternoon before making way for sunshine this evening.

Temperatures will sit in the mid-60s through much of the day as clouds dominate. Winds will be a bit breezy flowing out of the south-southwest between 5 and 10 miles per hour and gusting as fast as 20 miles per hour at times.

Tonight will be cold dropping into the low 40s and upper 30s overnight. Moisture will linger behind the cold front as spotty showers impact the Queen City on Saturday Afternoon while mountain counties see waves of snow showers throughout the day.

Rain and snow totals will be relatively low. Just about a third of an inch of rain is expected while snow totals can fall between 1 and 2 inches in our mountains.

Sunny skies will dominate by the second half of the weekend. A warming trend will heat us up into the low 70s as intermittent rain chances return heading into early next week.

Today: Mostly Cloudy With Periods of Rain. High: 64.

Tonight: Mostly Cloudy & Chilly. Low: 40.
