Here are Friday's high school sports results for the Appleton area

TRACK AND FIELD

Gil Frank Invitational

KIMBERLY - Kimberly and West De Pere easily outdistanced the competition in the boys meet with the Papermakers taking first with 174.25 points and the Phantoms second with 149.

Freedom, Kaukauna, Green Bay Preble, Little Chute, Fox Valley Lutheran, Manitowoc, Xavier and Waupaca finished third through 10th, respectively.

In the girls meet, it was West De Pere taking home first place with 148.5 points. Kaukauna, Freedom and Kimberly were second, third and fourth with 127.5, 121 and 115 points, respectively. Manitowoc, Green Bay Preble, Little Chute, Fox Valley Lutheran, Xavier and Waupaca, finished fifth through 10th, respectively.

In the boys meet, Kimberly’s Cam Wnek swept the hurdles, winning the 110-meter event with a time of :15.72 and the 300-meter hurdles with a time of :40.10.

West De Pere’s Noah Jahnke won the 1,600 (4:31.26) and the 3,200 (9:35.22).

In the girls meet, Ellie Drews of West De Pere won both the 100-meter hurdles (:16.16) and the 300-meter hurdles (:46.73). Teammate Eliza Aitken won the pole vault at a height of 12-3 and the 200 (:25.00).

Kaukauna’s Alexa Kinas won the triple jump (35-0) and the 400 (:57.94).

Brillion Sting Cancer Invitational

BRILLION - Manitowoc Lutheran edged Kiel for the girls title 147-146.83, while Kiel piled up 177 points to win the boys title.

St. Mary Catholic, Brillion, Wrightstown, Roncalli, Chilton and Mishicot fiished third through eighth, respectively, in the girls meet.

Brillion, Wrightstown, St. Mary Catholic, Manitowoc Lutheran, Roncalli, Mishicot and Chilton were second through eighth, respectively, in the boys meet.

In the girls meet, Emily Marohn of Manitowoc Lutheran swept the hurdles (:50.60, 300 meters; :17.45, 100 meters) and also won the triple jump (34-1.75). Teammate Brooklyn Luebke won the 1,600 with a time of 5:32.74, the 800 with a time of 2:29.03 and the 3,200 with a time of 12:21.43. Monraye Ermis won the shot put with a put of 35-11 and the discus with a throw of 107-11.

Brillion’s Megan Schuman won the 200 (:28.12) and the high jump (16-9.50).

In the boys meet, Wrightstown’s Logan Peters won the discus with a throw of 147-1 and the shot put with a put of 41-9.

Brayden Riemer of Roncalli took first in the 100 (:11.41) and the 200 (:23.68), as well as the 400 (:53.21).

Brillion’s Alex Metko won both the 1,600 and 3,200 with times of 4:40.18 and 10:18.82, respectively.

Neenah Invitational

NEENAH - Stevens Point piled up 222 points to win the boys meet, while Appleton North tallied 192.2 to win the girls meet. Bay Port and Neenah finished second and third, respectively, in both meets.

In the boys meet, Stevens Point’s Sunhoney Xiong won the long and triple jumps with jumps of 21-6.25 and 43-1, respectively.

The meet’s other double winner was Oshkosh North’s Devin Williams, who won the 100 and 400 with times of :11.56 in the 100 and :50.18 in the 400.

In the girls meet, Appleton North’s Ryan Guest won the long jump and triple jump with jumps of 16-7 and 34-4, respectively. Appleton North’s other double winner in individual events was Kalea Weyenberg. She finished first in the 100 with a time of :12.99 and first in the 200 with a time of :25.44.

Neenah’s Mazie Olkowski took first in the 800 with a time of 2:34.08 and first in the 1,600 with a time of 5:31.63.

Shiocton Triangular

SHIOCTON - Crandon, Shiocton and Gresham/Bowler finished 1-2-3 in the girls meet with Shiocton, Crandon and Gresham/Bowler finishing 1-2-3 in the boys meet.

In the boys meet, Jacob Klitzke was a double winner for Shiocton, winning the shot put (37-11) and the discus (127-7). Teammate Bennett Schmidt won the 200 (:26.12) and the high jump (5-6). Isaiah Carton took first in the triple jump (33-3.75) and in the 300 hurdles (:55.05).

In the girls meet, Shiocton’s Karissa Birch won the 100 and 200 with times of :13.87 and :30.5, respectively, as well as the long jump (15-4.25). Kendal Stingle won the discus (88-11.5) and the 100 hurdles (:16.48).

SOFTBALL

Appleton North 9, Appleton East 8

APPLETON - The Lightning scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally for the victory.

The Patriots led 4-0 through three innings and were ahead 6-1 heading into the bottom of the fifth.

Raegen Schwarz had three hits, including a double, and drove in two runs for North. Tatum Beggs and Callie Weber both had two hits and an RBI.

Serena Timmer had three hits, including a home run and a double, and drove in three runs for the Patriots. Clare Rettler had two hits, including a triple, and two RBI. Macie Rodriguez had two hits and an RBI.

The teams combined for 22 hits.

Freedom 1-5, Luxemburg-Casco 0-0

FREEDOM - Naleyah Bork tossed a no-hitter, striking out 10 as the Irish took the first game of the twinbill, scoring once in the sixth. Rachel Koss was 2-for-3 to pace Freedom offensively.

In the nightcap, Bork followed up her gem by tossing a three-hitter, walking three and striking out eight.

Freedom scored twice in the third and three times in the seventh. Seven different Irish players garnered hits with Lauren Scheibe leading the way with two RBI, while Koss homered.

New London 7, Menasha 5

MENASHA - The Bulldogs outlasted the Bluejays in a wild Bay Conference matchup.

Emma Reismann homered twice and was 3-for-4 with three RBI, while Autumn Winkelman was 3-for-4 with two homers and two RBI for New London. Molly Kable and Shelby Glodowski added two hits each, with Glodowski also homering.

Carlie Morrow, Kylie Van De Loo, Maddie Zaves and Sam Shuey had two hits each for Menasha. One of Zaves’ hits was a homer.

The Bulldogs led 3-1 going into the sixth and upped that margin to 5-1 in the sixth. Menasha answered with a run before New London scored twice in the seventh. The Bluejays then struck for three runs before coming up just short.

Hilbert/Stockbridge 8, Green Bay NEW Lutheran 1

GREEN BAY - Anna Aldrete allowed one hit and struck out 12 to pitch the Wolves to the nonconference win.

Chloe Koslowski had three RBI, Megan Woelfel had two RBI, and Hannah Propson drove in one run and scored two to lead the Wolves offense.

BASEBALL

Freedom 12, Waupaca 2

FREEDOM - Jace Midbon pitched four innings of four-hit ball and also had two RBI in the Irish’s win over the Comets.

Nate Senso pitched the final two innings, allowing one hit.

Carter Kriewaldt had two hits for Freedom, while Matt Wyngaard and Grant Meulemans both had two RBI. Jamison Rudie had a double for Freedom, which benefited from 10 walks by Waupaca pitchers.

Henry Williams had two hits for Waupaca. Vin Nikola had a double.

Wrightstown 10, Fox Valley Lutheran 3

APPLETON - The Tigers started fast as they scored once in the first, and four times in the second and third.

Jack Severson finished 4-for-4 with a double and three RBI, while Trevor Vande Hey was 3-for-4 with a double and four RBI. Preston Winkler also had two hits for Wrightstown.

Ethan Melso doubled to lead the Foxes’ offense.

Chilton 6, Valders 3

CHILTON - Austin Grube had two hits and Ryan Pierquet stole three bases to lead the Tigers.

Grube had a double and an RBI. Hunter Rolbiecki drove in two runs for Chilton.

Max Mueller pitchd four innings to get the win. He allowed three runs (two earned) and struck out three. Alex Breckheimer pitched three innings, didn’t allow a hit and struck out seven.

Kayden Kish, Otis Berge and Mason Meyers hit doubles for Valders.

Seymour 8, West De Pere 5

SEYMOUR - Braden DeBruin was 3-for-3 with two RBI as Seymour scored five times in the second and led 8-2 after five before holding off West De Pere.

Ethan Volz, Will DeBruin, JT Minlschmidt and Lucas Leisgang were all 2-for-2 with Volz and Will DeBruin scoring twice and Leisgang adding two RBI. Mason Pautz also doubled for the Thunder.

Carter Schmidt paced West De Pere, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, while Carter Durge doubled and drove in two runs.

Hilbert 6, Algoma 1

HILBERT - Sam Bradley, Parker Kleppen and Coltin Casper all had two hits as the Wolves scored once in the first, twice in the fourth, once in the fifth and twice in the sixth to seal the win.

Carson Grenzer picked up the win, going six innings, walking two, allowing three hits and striking out nine.

Jack Cole scored Algoma’s run in the seventh.
