D.C. Everest 6, Wausau West 2

SCHOFIELD - Paige Kislow pitched the Evergreens to the win over the Warriors.

Allison Kirsch took the loss for Wausau West.

Mosinee 15, Edgar 5

EDGAR - Mosinee amassed 15 hits and broke open the game by scoring 10 runs in the third inning against the Wildcats.

Mikah Keller had four hits and scored four runs for Mosinee, with Hailey Shnowski and Maria Valls Raya both driving in two runs. Vallas Raya had three hits. Amber Gonzalez, Adeline Strejc and Alanna Bembenek each had two hits.

Reagan Borchardt had two hits, scored twice and drove in four runs for Edgar.

Martina Miller pitched four innings and got the win for Mosinee.

Makayla Wirkus took the loss for Edgar.

Iola-Scandinavia 10, Pittsville 0

IOLA - Sophomore Julia Munoz pitched a five-inning perfect game in a nonconference win.

Munoz finished the game with seven strikeouts.

The Thunderbirds scored 10 runs in the first two innings. Chloe Timdal drove in three runs while Alexa Christoph and Myah Heschke each drove in two runs for the T-Birds.

Athens 14, Marathon 4

ATHENS - The Bluejays scored four runs in the second inning, then ended the game with nine runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Elle Gauerke had two hits, including a home run, and drove in four runs for Athens.

Siarra Hart pitched five innings to get the win. She gave up four hits and struck out five.

Ella Mader had two hits and an RBI for Marathon.

Colby/Abbotsford 13, Spencer 10

SPENCER - Halie VanLuven and Tatum Bargender were both 3-for-5 with three RBI as the Hornets rallied past the Rockets for the Cloverbelt Conference win.

Alea Graff added a triple, homer and three RBI, while Kya Viegut added two hits.

Samantha Sohack and Kaelyn Schiener each had two hits for Spencer, with Schiener driving in three runs and Sohack two.

BASEBALL

Abbotsford/Colby 13, Athens 10

ATHENS - The Falcons outlasted the Bluejays in eight innings.

With the game tied 8-8 after seven, Abbotsford/Colby scored five times in the top of the eighth and then held on as Athens answered with two runs of its own.

J.V. Castillo led Abbotsford/Colby, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, while Mateo Lopez was 3-for-5 with three RBI.

Payton Schreiber was 3-for-4 with one RBI, Carlos Lara went 2-for-5 with two RBI, and Nano Lopez was 2-for-5 with one RBI.

Edgar 8, Pacelli 5

EDGAR - The Wildcats scored in each of the first five innings and staved off a late rally to top the Cardinals.

Everet Brehm led the Edgar offense, going 4-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored. Ashton Schuett, Jase Apfelbeck and Brett Baumgartner all had two hits, with Schuett and Apfelbeck driving in a pair each.

Nick Helms was 2-for-4, while Asher Jordan drove in two runs.

Stratford 14, Phillips 0

PHILLIPS - The Tigers scored six runs in the third inning to break open their game against the Loggers.

Brady Schmidt had two hits, scored twice and drove in four runs to lead Stratford. Dilion Kirsch had a pair of hits, scored twice and drove in three runs. Camden Daul and Jack Tubbs both drove in two runs.

Braeden Schueller pitched the first three innings and allowed Phillips its one hit. Jackson Ormand and Henry Zaleski both followed up with a scoreless inning.

James Bruhn took the loss for Phillips.

Pittsville 14, Iola-Scandinavia 3

IOLA - The Panthers started fast, scoring six times in the first and three in the second and cruised to the Central Wisconsin Conference win.

Noah Grimm was 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Waylon Grimm was 3-for-5. Dylan Luther also pounded out two hits.

Noah Grimm was also solid on the mound, picking up the victory as he allowed just two hits, two earned runs, two walks, while striking out eight.

Greenwood 8, Loyal 2

GREENWOOD - Greenwood scored seven times in the first and never looked back.

Xander Hinker and Mason Learman had two hits each for Greenwood, both driving in a pair of runs. Learman picked up the win on the mound, striking out 12.

Eli Zettler had two hits to pace the Greyhounds.

TRACK AND FIELD

Stevens Point Panther Invitational

STEVENS POINT - Marshfield took first place in the girls meet with 766.50 points.

D.C. Everest was next in line with 658, followed by Stevens Point, Marathon, Wausau East, Wisconsin Rapids and Rosholt.

Marshfield’s Aubri Brown was a double winner, taking first in the shot put (37-0) and the discus (120-1).

Sadie Rakovec of D.C. Everest won the 100-meter dash (:12.96) and the triple jump (34-9).

Stevens Point’s Roisin Willis won the 200 (:25.64) and the 1,600 (4:43.61), breaking the Stevens Point and Wisconsin Valley Conference record of 4:46.90 set by Suzy Favor. Willis also broke the WVC and Stevens Point record time of :25.66 in the 200 set in 2017 by Grace Hartman of Wisconsin Rapids.

Neenah Invitational

NEENAH - Stevens Point piled up 222 points to win the boys meet, while Appleton North tallied 192.2 to win the girls meet. Bay Port and Neenah finished second and third, respectively, in both meets.

In the boys meet, Stevens Point’s Sunhoney Xiong won the long and triple jumps with jumps of 21-6.25 and 43-1, respectively.

The meet’s other double winner was Oshkosh North’s Devin Williams, who won the 100 and 400 with times of :11.56 in the 100 and :50.18 in the 400.

In the girls meet, Appleton North’s Ryan Guest won the long jump and triple jump with jumps of 16-7 and 34-4, respectively. Appleton North’s other double winner in individual events was Kalea Weyenberg. She finished first in the 100 with a time of :12.99 and first in the 200 with a time of :25.44.

Neenah’s Mazie Olkowski took first in the 800 with a time of 2:34.08 and first in the 1,600 with a time of 5:31.63.

St. Norbert Elite Meet

DE PERE - Wausau West won both the boys and girls titles with 125 and 126 points, respectively, with Port Washington taking second in the boys meet and Notre Dame second in the girls meet.

In the boys meet, Denmark’s Simon Alexander took first in the 100-meter dash (:10.96) and the 200 (:22.87).

In the girls meet, Ashwaubenon’s Brooke Mader won the shot put with a put of 35-1 and the discus with a throw of 102-10.

Notre Dame’s Hope Barington won both hurdles events, taking the 100-meter hurdles with a time of :16.41 and the 300 hurdles with a time of :49.69. Notre Dame’s Danika Apple won the 100 and 200 with times of :12.76 and :27.16, respectively.

Rylee Brotz of Sheboygan South won the 1,600 with a time of 5:38.77 and the 2K Steeplechase with a time of 8:25.85.

GIRLS SOCCER

Assumption 11, Mauston 0

WISCONSIN RAPIDS - The Royals improved to 9-0 with the nonconference victory.

Sarah Shaw scored four goals for Assumption. Clara Kubis and Kendall Duellman each scored two goals, while Kayla Kerkman, Addi Vollert and Sadie Donahue had one goal each. Vollert had two assists.

Morgan Reichl and Mally Steinle shared time in goal for the shutout.
