FOOTBALL

Kaukauna 30, Fond du Lac 28

KAUKAUNA - Osvaldo Soto Sanchez’s 25-yard field goal with under a minute remaining helped to lift the Ghosts past the Cardinals in thrilling fashion.

Noah Hofmann had 323 yards on 37 carries and three touchdowns for the Ghosts (4-2, 3-1 Fox Valley Association).

Tanner Dalske had a pair of touchdowns for Fond du Lac, including a 70-yard run that gave the Cardinals (3-3, 2-2) a 28-27 lead in the fourth quarter.

Sanchez also had field goals of 39 and 22 yards earlier in the game.

Neenah 42, Oshkosh North 20

OSHKOSH - The Rockets and Spartans traded blows throughout the first half, but Neenah stifled Oshkosh North’s offense after the break to run away with the victory.

Neenah’s ground attack was too much to handle as the Rockets ripped off touchdown runs of 65, 57, and 15 yards courtesy of quarterback Evan Vanevenhoven and running back Jase Jenkins. Grant Dean added a 69-yard punt return for a touchdown and grabbed a Vanevenhoven pass from 27 yards away for his second score of the night.

The Spartans opened up the scoring on their first drive with a Quintin Fisher touchdown catch from Hunter Carlson. Oshkosh North’s quarterback would go on to throw another touchdown pass to Drake Moxon in the second quarter and then run 47 yards for another trip to the end zone on the ground before the half.

MAYVILLE - The Cardinals jumped out in front of the Spartans 24-0 in the first quarter and rushed for 302 yards in the convincing victory.

Blake Schraufnagel led Mayville with 173 yards rushing and two touchdowns on just 10 carries. Payton Borchardt added 86 yards rushing on 11 carries.

Adison Mittelstadt threw for 148 yards for the Cardinals.

Laconia was led by Keeton Grade, who completed eight passes for 96 yards.

Port Washington 61, Ripon 20

PORT WASHINGTON - The Pirates put up 33 points in the first quarter to coast to victory over the Tigers.

Quarterback Ben Fritsch accounted for seven of Port Washington’s nine touchdowns, three each through the air and on the ground along with one on a kickoff return. Matt Esselmann had three catches for 59 yards and two touchdowns. Fritsch was also the Pirates’ leading rusher, carrying nine times for 72 yards.

Ripon quarterback Ethan Struble was the leading rusher in the game with 28 carries for 109 yards. Kyle Roby added 42 yards rushing on 14 attempts.
