Division 1

Bay Port 17, Appleton North 10

SUAMICO - Bay Port forced three turnovers and withstood a late Appleton North rally to pull out the state quarterfinal win.

The Pirates (12-0) advance to play Kimberly (11-1) in next Friday’s state semifinal at a site yet to be determined.

North (9-3) held the Pirates to 193 yards of total offense, but the Lightning had a fumble off a high snap deep in Pirates territory in the first half and also had an interception returned for a touchdown by Noah Holtz early in the third quarter.

The Lightning rallied down 17-0 with Luke Kritzer connecting on a 44-yard touchdown to Caden Popp in the fourth quarter. Popp added a field goal later in the period but it wasn’t enough.

Kimberly 31, Waunakee 16

WAUNAKEE - Seth Miron passed for 201 yards and Blake Barry rushed for 186 yards to lead the Papermakers to the win over the Warriors.

The victory advances Kimberly to the semifinals where it will play the Bay Port Pirates.

After Waunakee opened the scoring with a 40-yard field goal by Aiden Meinholz, Kimberly scored the next 31 points.

Barry put Kimberly ahead on a 27-yard run with Miron then finding Ethan Criter open for a 32-yard touchdown.

Barry would add two more touchdown runs and Hunter Berry would finish off Kimberly’s scoring with a 32-yard field goal.

Barry scored three touchdowns for Kimberly on runs of 27, 1 and 14 yards.

Waunakee was led by Sebastian Rasmussen with 106 yards rushing on 14 carries and Garett Lenzendorf, who passed for 124 yards.

Kimberly had five quarterback sacks, with Brody Beck and Sawyer Hanlon each getting two sacks and Sam McGivern getting one sack.

Division 2

Kaukauna 41, Homestead 13

MEQUON - The Ghosts took the lead on their first possession on a 74-yard run by Noah Hofmann and never trailed in their quarterfinal game against the Highlanders.

Homestead pulled within one following a 53-yard touchdown pass but missed the extra point and it was all Kaukauna after that.

In the second quarter, Owen Broderick intercepted a Homestead pass and returned it 40 yards to make it 13-6 with about eight minutes left in the first half.

Kaukauna started to pull away in the third quarter. Finnley Doriot completed a 17-yard touchdown pass to Caden Graff to make it 20-6. Hofmann added a 50-yard touchdown run with two minutes left in the third quarter to make it 27-6.

To start the fourth quarter, Homestead had advanced to Kaukauna’s 9-yard line but turned the ball over on downs. Hofmann then took the ensuing handoff for Kaukauna and went 91 yards to make it 34-6.

Homestead countered with a touchdown of its own before Kaukauna’s Carter Knaack scored on a 2-yard run with about two minutes left.

Division 4

Two Rivers 35, Racine St. Catherine’s 6

RACINE - Two Rivers led 21-0 at halftime and cruised to the quarterfinal win.

Justin Klinkner threw a pair of touchdown passes and also returned an interception for a touchdown for Two Rivers.

MAYVILLE - The Cardinals shut out the Crusaders to advance to the state semifinals.

The Cardinals will play the winner of Prairie du Chein and Brodhead/Juda next week at a neutral site for the opportunity to punch their ticket to state.

Blake Schraufnagel led Mayville with 11 carries for 143 rushing yards and four touchdowns – three of which were in the first quarter. The scores were from 50, 7 and 22 yards.

Devin Neitzel joined the touchdown party with a 9-yard run before Schraufnagel’s fourth score, from 10 yards out, before the half. Payton Borchardt capped off a 16-carry, 108-yard performance on a 6-yard touchdown run with 1:42 left in the third quarter.

Aquinas 28, Colby 14

LA CROSSE - Aquinas scored the final 14 points of the game to pull away from a 14-14 tie and beat the Hornets.

Colby scored in the first quarter on a 20-yard pass from Tucker Meyer to Nathaniel Robida, and scored in the second quarter on a 92-yard pass from Meyer to Caden Healy.

Healy ran for 112 yards on 22 carries and also caught two passes for 89 yards.

Calvin Hargrove had touchdown runs of 5 and 39 yards in the first quarter for Aquinas. He added a 19-yard touchdown reception from Jackson Flottmeyer in the third quarter to make it 20-14.

Flottmeyer’s 3-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter sealed the win for Aquinas.

Division 6

Stratford 27, Grantsburg 7

GRANTSBURG - The Tigers scored three touchdowns in the final 1:26 of the first half to lead 21-0 at halftime in the quarterfinal win.

Quarterback Braeden Schueller scored on a 1-yard run on fourth down with 1:26 remaining in first half for the game’s first score.

Stratford got the ball back and Schueller connected with Gavin Leonhardt for a 46-yard touchdown pass with 32 seconds remaining.

On the ensuing possession, Leonhardt intercepted a pass that deflected off the hands of a Grantsburg receiver and returned it 59 yards for a touchdown with eight seconds to go in the half.

Koehler Kilty capped the scoring for the Tigers with a 4-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Stratford will play St. Mary’s Springs in a state semifinal game.

COLEMAN - JT Koenig’s 4-yard touchdown run and Cole Rottman’s extra point rallied the Ledgers to the victory over the Cougars.

Coleman had taken a 20-14 lead earlier in the fourth quarter on a 13-yard touchdown pass from Trent Mongin to Will Bieber, with Peter Kuchta crashing in for the two-point conversion.

St. Mary’s Springs finished with 200 yards of offense while Coleman had 279 yards of offense.

Koenigs led the Ledgers offensively with 89 yards rushing and three touchdowns.

Kuchta led Coleman with 61 yards rushing.

Shiocton 32, Cambria-Friesland 14

CAMBRIA - Cade Stingle scored four touchdowns, including three rushing, to lead second-seeded Shiocton past top-seeded Cambria-Friesland.

Stingle scored on runs of 11, 53 and 3 yards and also caught a 44-yard touchdown pass from Dawson Schmidt.

James Mutchie also hauled in a 19-yard scoring reception from Schmidt.

Shiocton (10-2) plays undefeated Cashton (12-0) next Friday at a site yet to be determined.

Regis 53, Edgar 8

EAU CLAIRE - Karter Butt scored on a 1-yard run in the first quarter and Brett Baumgartner caught a pass on the two-point conversion for Edgar’s only points.

Edgar led 8-6 in the first quarter as both teams scored on their first offensive possessions but Regis led 33-8 at halftime.

8-Player

Newman Catholic 35, Siren 0

CHIPPEWA FALLS - Thomas Bates and Conner Krach each ran for two touchdowns to lead the Cardinals to the victory in an 8-player state semifinal game.

Bates finished with 166 rushing yards and Krach ran for 115 yards.

The Cardinals, who improved to 11-0 overall, will play Belmont next Saturday in the state championship game in Wisconsin Rapids.

Newman led 21-0 at halftime as Krach had 110 yards and two touchdowns in the first half.
