Here are Friday's high school sports results for the Oshkosh and Fond du Lac area

BOYS BASKETBALL

Appleton East 83, Oshkosh North 75

OSHKOSH - Joey La Chapell scored 27 points, including 22 in the second half, and added eight assists as the Patriots defeated the Spartans.

Tyson Keil added 24 points while Caleb Glaser and Cade Prestigiacomo added 10 each for East. Keil also had eight rebounds and six blocked shots.

Steven Clark led Oshkosh North with 21 points. Xzavion Mitchell scored 13 points and surpassed the 1,000-career point mark for Oshkosh North.

Carter Strange and Ari Giannopoulos both scored 14 points for Oshkosh North.

Hortonville 68, Oshkosh West 49

HORTONVILLE - August Maurer scored 19 points to lead the Polar Bears over the Wildcats.

Riley Mueller added 18 points for Hortonville, which improves to 12-6 overall and 8-6 in the Fox Valley Association.

Dylan Taylor and Devonte Kershaw had 12 points apiece to lead Oshkosh West. Tristan Johanknecht added 10 points for West (6-13, 3-10).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Winnebago Lutheran 58, Laconia 54

FOND DU LAC - In a game that was tied on several occasions, the Vikings never trailed in defeating the Spartans, resulting in a tie atop the Flyway Conference with both teams sharing a 10-1 record.

WLA was led in scoring by Lindsey Nell, who had a game-high 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for a double-double. Kiara Shea followed with 14 points and Abby Cole also double-doubled with 13 points and 23 rebounds - her second consecutive game with 23 boards.

Aubrey Leonard led Laconia with 15 points. Tierney Madigan added 14 points and Calista VandeBerg had 12 for the Spartans.

FOND DU LAC - The Ledgers held the Lions to just eight points in the first half while building a 19-point halftime lead en route to the win.

Sydney Pitz led St. Mary’s Springs with 19 points. Gracie Konkol added 12.

Lomira was led by Jaye Zingsheim with nine points.

OMRO - The Foxes overcame a two-point halftime deficit, outscoring the Orioles by 13 points in the second half to get the win.

Omro was led by Ava Stachura, who scored 19 points. Gracen Barbian added 10 points.

Lucy Hughes led North Fond du Lac with 10 points.

GRAND CHUTE - The Rockets scored a goal in the second period and two in the third to defeat the Cardinals.

Ryan Johnson, Calvin Zinda and Chase Collins scored goals for Neenah/Hortonville/Menasha. Ty Laabs and Luke Sutton both had two assists while John Kriz had one assist.

Caleb Moore had 23 saves for the Rockets. Spencer Shober had 14 saves for Fond du Lac.

St. Mary’s Springs 7, Appleton United 0

GRAND CHUTE - Talan Blanck and Austin Westergaard both had two goals to lead the Ledgers to the win over the United.

Quinn McLaughlin, Jaiden Miesner and Pierce Weber also scored for St. Mary’s Springs, which led 3-0 after the first period. Blanck had three assists and Gabe Braun had two assists.

Memphis Young had 12 saves in goal for St. Mary’s Springs. Brandon Tobak stopped 34 shots for Appleton United.
