Friday's HS roundup: Traip girls trio paces Rangers past Cape Elizabeth

KITTERY, Maine – Three girls accounted for all but three points for the Traip Academy girls basktball team’s 55-29 win over Cape Elizabeth on Friday in a Class C South contest.

Hannah Thorsen had a game-high 26 points, while Emme Hale had 15 and Lilly Stuart had 12.

Class C Traip improved to 6-6 on the season, while Class B Cape Elizabeth is 3-8.

“It was a solid defense effort tonight,” Traip head coach Jeff Gray said.

CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine – Zac Foye had 14 points and David Durling had 11 for Class C Traip Academy in this loss at Class B Cape Elizabeth.

Marshwood girls second, boys fourth 

BRIDGTON, Maine – Marshwood's Hadley Prewitt placed first overall in a time of 1 minute, 15.39 seconds in a five-team slalom race at Pleasant Mountain Ski Area.

Marshwood placed second as a team with 27 points, nine points behind Falmouth. Windham (70), Cheverus (86) and Gorham (89) placed third through fifth, respectively.

Other racers for Marshwood included Maeve Long (third, 1:19.47), Lydia Phipps (sixth, 1:24.99) and Sarah McClellan (17th, 1:36.84).

In the boys race, Marshwood finished fourth with a team score of 79. Falmouth (23), Gorham (31), and Windham (33) placed first through third, respectively.

Marshwood racers included Tommy McClellan (18th, 1:33.90), Caleb Boyle (19th, 1:35.70), Reid Chamberlain (20th, 1:39.34) and James Melino (22nd, 1:41.01).
