Friday's HS roundup: Traip girls lacrosse wins first game in program history

KITTERY, Maine – Alexis Hernandez scored five goals as the Traip Academy girls lacrosse team beat Noble, 13-11 on Friday for the first win in program history.

Quinn McPherson and Julia Durling both scored three goals for the Rangers, while Keira Alessia had two.

Traip goalie Charlotte Masse had four saves.

GIRLS LACROSSE

DURHAM –Sophie Royal had seven goals and three assists for Oyster River in this Division II win.

MacKenzie Cook and Elsa Pueschel both had three goals and one assist for the Bobcats. Waverly Oake-Libow and Caitrin Ferris both had two goals in the win, while Annika Kell had one assist.

Oyster River goalies Paige Haug and Sydney Haines both had one save.

Dover 14

Nashua South 9

DOVER - Julia Rowley scored four goals and had one assist for Dover in this Division I win.

Molly Goodridge had two goals and two assists for the Green Wave. Teammates Payton Denning, Megan Healy, Danielle Young all had two goals and one assist, and Julia Bastille and Rylen Gray both had one goal.

Freshman goalie Maggie Berry had nine saves.

GOFFSTOWN - Lily Hunt, Hannah Raab and Sophia Olsen all scored a goal for the Red Raiders in this Division II win. Raab also had two assists, while goalie Izzy Orrell had 13 saves.

MANCHESTER – Megan Leahy had eight goals and Kat Dornan added six for St. Thomas Aquinas in this Division III win.

Kensley Harris added two goals for the Saints, while Sara Anderson, Hannah Henderson, Lila Meuse, Grace Talbot and Cat Vetter all had one.

St. Thomas goalie Gracie Pettinato had six saves.

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Fiona Gillis had four goals and three assists for Marshwood (4-1) in this Class A contest.

Sarah Theriault and Eva Moreland both had three goals for the Hawks, while Lindley Gori had two goals and two assists.

Hadley Prewitt (goal, assist), Eva Hersey (goal), Elle McDaniel (goal), Hadley Beale (two assists) and Ali Arrigoni (assist) all figured in the scoring for Marshwood.

Marshwood goalie Hannah Moylan had six saves.

YORK, Maine - Rose Pavuk had three goals, and Clara Pavuk and Grace Clayton both had two for Class B York in its loss against Class A Massabesic.

Lexi Bardwell, Lindsey Zinkevicz, Cary Drake and Anna Doughty all scored a goal for the Wildcats.

Rocha and Lankler won 8-4 at No. 2 doubles, and Ellis and Ferrell won 8-2 at No. 3.

Winnacunnet’s Stella Sebeny (No. 1, 8-0) and Emily Barnes (No. 2, 8-6) won in singles action, while the tandem won 8-6 at No. 1 doubles.

Pivirotto and Knox won 9-7 at No. 1 doubles, Behre and Emma Lane won 8-2 at No. 2, and Scarlet Derry and Maddie Jasina won 8-5 at No. 3.

FRANKLIN - Jessica Berry pitched five innings of no-hit ball striking out seven in this Division IV five-inning complete-game win.

Kierra Souphakhot had a double and four RBIs for the Mules, while Riley Andriski (home run), Berry (two hits, three runs) and Gia Tilton (two hits, four runs) starred.

YORK, Maine – Maddy Raymond allowed two hits and struck out nine, earning this five-inning, Class B South complete-game win.

Raymond also has three hits, including two doubles, and three RBIs. Carli Welch (three hits, three RBIs), Maggie Hanlon (three hits, RBI), Ava Brent (two hits, two RBIs), McKayla Kortes (two this, RBI), Emily Estes (hit) and Jill Carr (hit) all contributed to York’s 15-hit attack.

DOVER - Hailey Strong allowed three hits and struck out nine for Spaulding (5-5) in this Division I win.

Ky McLaren and Julia Ziadeh both had two hits for the Red Raiders.

YORK, Maine – Hayden Henriksen’s single drove home Brody Gullison with the walk-off, game-winning run in this Class B South game.

York senior Luke Doughty pitched the final two innings, earning the win.

DOVER - Sam Grondin struck out two and allowed two hits over five innings, earning this Division II win for St. Thomas Aquinas.

Devon Paquette had two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored for the Saints, while Gage Spagna, Jake Lacouture, and Charlie Covert all had one hit.

The Saints plated four runs in the second, two in the third and one in the fourth.

AMHERST - Sophomore Colin Klein had two hits for the Bobcats in this Division II loss.

Oyster River junior John Federico pitched scoreless four innings, allowing two hits.

Spaulding 2

ROCHESTER - Conor Bryant allowed two hits and struck out 14 for Spaulding in this Division I game.

Spaulding's Jack Sullivan had three hits, including a triple.

GIRLS TRACK

York wins six-team meet

CUMBERLAND, Maine - Lexi Brent won the 300-meter hurdles (47.24 seconds) and the 100-meter hurdles (15.3) as York scored 236 points and won this six-team meet at Greely.

Greely (147), Sacopee Valley (61), Fryeburg Academy (43), Kent Hill (37), and North Yarmouth Academy (22) placed second through sixth, respectively.

Nora Dowling won the shot put (28 feet, 09.5 inches) and the discus (75-01) for the Wildcats.

Other winners included Molly Kenealy (800, 2:22.40), Delaney Foley (4-04) and Greta Yauch (mile racewalk, 9:31.94).

BOYS TRACK

York wins six-team meet

CUMBERLAND, Maine - Landon Morrison, Christian Burke and Matt Charpentier all won two events for York in this meet at Greely.

Morrison won the 800 (2:10.07) and the mile (4:47.86), Burke won the high jump (6-0) and pole vault (11-0), and Charpentier won the shot put (53-02.5) and discus (142-1).

York scored 263 points for first place, while Greely (120), Sacopee Valley (100), Fryeburg Academy (31), Kent Hill (31) and North Yarmouth Academy (13) placed second through sixth, respectively.

Other winners for York included Nick Banakos (200, 23.76), Seth Hultstrom (400, 54.48), Dylan Lewis (two mile, 11:08.79), Colin Monsen (110 hurdles,15.6) and Liam Furlong (mile racewalk, 9:36.27).
