Friday's Top Prep Performers: Jaquez eclipses 2,000 points for her career

Highlights from Friday in high school sports:

GIRLS BASKETBALL

  • Gabriela Jaquez scored 34 points to become the fourth girls player in Ventura County history to score more than 2,000 career points (2,004) as undefeated Camarillo beat Royal 65-26 in a Coastal Canyon League game. Anika Carey finished with eight points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals, Emily Lim had eight points and three assists, Christa Contreras had seven points and six rebounds, and Mackenzie Anderson had five points and five rebounds for the Scorpions (21-0, 4-0). Selene Arteaga scored 19 points to lead the Highlanders (10-9, 2-2).

  • Natalie Ruiz finished with 17 points and seven rebounds, Avanthika Ramasamy had 13 points, three rebounds and two steals, and Jasmine Berry had 10 points and 13 rebounds to lead Moorpark (14-2, 2-1) to a 55-45 victory over Simi Valley in a Coastal Canyon League game. Abigail Degnan scored 12 points and Kaitlyn Padilla had eight points for the Pioneers (8-12, 1-3).

  • Brooklyn Shamblin finished with 19 points, Omamoke Okah had 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Madison Brothers had eight points to lead first-place Oaks Christian (13-2, 3-0) to a 50-25 win over Thousand Oaks in a Marmonte League game.

  • Mariah Elohim scored 15 points, Aiden Pino had 13 points, Taylor Swanson had six points, Alyssa Jackson and Devin Feiereisen each finished with five points to lead Westlake (12-5, 4-1) to a 50-39 victory over Calabasas in a Marmonte League game. Amia Witt finished with 13 points, six rebounds and three blocks, Jocelynn Townsend had eight points, five rebounds and three steals, and Lia Hendelman scored seven points for the Coyotes (15-5, 2-3).

  • Jordan Hayden finished with 13 points and four rebounds, Krista Colmenares had 12 points, five steals and six assists, and Makayla Maclean had nine points and five rebounds to lead Agoura (9-9, 3-3) to a 52-36 win over Newbury Park in a Marmonte League game. Olivia Antu had 12 points and three assists and Alanna Young had 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Panthers (8-13, 2-3).

  • Faith Stockton had 13 points, five rebounds, five steals and three assists, Anessa Reyes had eight points, four rebounds, four steals and two assists, Arianna Duarte finished with five points, five steals, five assists and five rebounds, and Danielle Salazar added four points and seven rebounds to lead first-place Santa Paula (10-10, 4-0) to a 43-22 victory over Carpinteria in a Citrus Coast League game.

  • Sofia Aviles scored 14 points, Nataly Vigil had 12 points and Ary Munoz added eight points to lead Fillmore (1-5, 1-1) to a 40-17 win over Malibu in a Citrus Coast League game.

BOYS BASKETBALL

  • Angel Navarro dropped in 27 points, Jack Benyshek scored 17 points, and Mikey Ishoo, Ryder Henderson and Jimmy Cunningham each added eight points to lead Simi Valley (19-2, 4-1) to an 82-74 victory over Moorpark in a Coastal Canyon League game. Nick Parrott scored 19 points, Samson Hall had 18 points, Nate Tiedge had 16 points and Lucas Fenske added 15 points for the Musketeers (13-9, 1-3).

  • Drew Romano finished with 28 points, Will Jagard had nine points and Preston Lowry added seven points to lead Royal (9-13, 1-4) to a 54-52 win over Camarillo in a Coastal Canyon League game.

  • Caleb Chin had 17 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, Jack Munro had 12 points and five rebounds, Patrick Saari finished with 10 points, three rebounds and two assists, and Nathan Rozsa added seven points to lead first-place Thousand Oaks (14-3, 3-0) to a 59-36 victory over Oaks Christian in a Marmonte League game.

  • Aidan Delavari had 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists, Marcus Lesser finished with 10 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals, River Ortiz had 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists, and Trent MacLean scored 10 points to lead Westlake (14-4, 3-2) to a 52-45 victory over Calabasas in a Marmonte League game. Peter Gray scored 17 points, Gavin Murphy had 11 points and Taylor Golden added eight points for the Coyotes (12-5, 2-2).

  • Blue Sierra scored 13 points, Zane Carter had 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Darin Cole had 12 points and nine rebounds to lead Buena (10-13, 3-3) to a 57-52 win over Rio Mesa in a Pacific View League game. Chris Alfaro scored 13 points, O’Neil Drury had 12 points and David Williams and Jacob Mora each had eight points for the Spartans (12-7, 3-1).

  • Luke Anestos scored 14 points, Travis Valenzuela had 13 points, Thomas Anter had 12 points, Tyler Woodworth had nine points, and Nolan Davis and Sam Plasch each added six points to lead Ventura (5-17, 2-4) to a 71-50 win over Pacifica in a Pacific View League game.

  • Dylan O’Neill scored 18 points, Marcos Ramirez had nine points and three assists, Isaiah Dillon had eight points and Lukas Rea added seven points as first-place Oxnard (16-4, 6-0) finished with 27 assists on 29 field goals in its 74-23 win over Channel Islands (4-14, 0-5) in a Pacific View League game.

BOYS SOCCER

  • Andres Gutierrez had a goal and an assist, Jorge Uribe scored a goal, and Jesus Avendaño had an assist as Hueneme (11-3-1, 5-0) remained unbeaten in the Citrus Coast League with a 2-0 victory over Nordhoff.

  • Arnulfo Zepeda finished with a goal and two assists and Diego Alcaraz and Jared Ramos scored goals to lead Fillmore (4-6-2, 2-1-1) to a 3-2 victory over Carpinteria in a Citrus Coast League match.

  • Justin Conyers, Oscar Vargas and Hector Perez scored goals to lead Moorpark (13-1, 4-1) to a 3-1 victory over Simi Valley (1-8-2, 1-4) in a Coastal Canyon League match.

  • Alex Fonseca scored two goals and Owen Schoner had a goal to lead Camarillo (9-8-2, 2-2) to a 3-0 victory over Royal (3-13-1, 0-4) in a Coastal Canyon League match.

  • Lucas Perez scored the goal for Newbury Park (8-5-2, 2-2-2) and Brandon Sosa scored the goal off an assist from Jones Newman for Agoura (7-0-5, 3-0-2) in the teams' 1-1 draw in a Marmonte League match.

  • Adam Williamson scored in the 64th minute for Thousand Oaks (9-3-2, 3-2) and Casey Kelly scored soon after the subsequent kickoff for Oaks Christian (4-5-1, 2-4) as the teams played to a 1-1 draw in a Marmonte League match.

  • Martin Cao scored a goal off an assist by Jaden Nachimzon as Westlake (7-8-2, 0-5-1) earned a 1-1 draw with Calabasas (5-3-3, 4-1-1) in a Marmonte League match.

GIRLS SOCCER

  • Tatum Wynalda scored four more goals to up her season total to 22, Layla Simon, Lex Sahagian and Ava Bowers scored goals, Emma Naftzger and Tahirih Vahdat each had two assists, and Leah Kainen had an assist to lead unbeaten Westlake (11-0, 6-0) to a 7-0 win over Calabasas (4-8-2, 0-6) in a Marmonte League match.

  • Scarlette Druian had a goal and assist and Sarah Spears and Jaida Moch scored goals to lead Oaks Christian (11-1-3, 4-1-1) to a 3-0 victory over Thousand Oaks (10-5, 3-3) in a Marmonte League match.

  • Clara Caulfield scored the goal for Newbury Park (3-3-2, 2-2-2) and Remy Portaro scored the goal and Carly Hauser saved a penalty kick for Agoura (2-5-3, 1-4-1) in the teams' 1-1 draw in a Marmonte League match.

  • Natalie Ruiz had a goal and an assist, Joscelin López scored a goal, Kaylyn López had an assist, and Caroll Olivares made five saves to record the shutout in net to lead Hueneme (3-6, 2-1) to a 2-0 win over Nordhoff in a Citrus Coast League match.

  • Alexis Velasco and Karissa Terrazas scored goals and Marlene Gonzalez had an assist to lead Fillmore (4-3-3, 4-0) to a 2-1 overtime win over Carpinteria in a Citrus Coast League match.

  • Avery Neri had a goal and an assist, Dalia Abosaleem, Kayla Basalone, Angelica Mata and Delaney Schultze scored goals, and Kamryn Izquierdo had an assist to lead Royal (2-6-2, 1-2-1) to a 5-2 win over Camarillo in a Coastal Canyon League match. Anneliese Wong and Baylee Fogelmanis scored the goals for the Scorpions (4-5, 2-2).
