Fried onions? Bourbon butter? 9 Taunton-area eateries where veggies are a treat

Eat your vegetables.

We’ve all been hearing that advice all of our lives, and for good reason.

Vegetables are part of a well-balanced diet, and essential to getting good nourishment.

As it turns out, there is an entire day in June to celebrate these nutrition essentials.

June 17 is National Eat Your Vegetables Day. Appropriately, it falls during what is National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month.

Vegetables don’t have to be, and shouldn’t be, a chore. They’re versatile and pack a huge punch of flavor, plus they’ll take almost any seasoning you throw at them. Eating well can be delicious, especially when you get your veggies.

We’ve put together a list of some restaurants from around the Taunton area where you can enjoy your vegetables every which way, from powerhouse salads, to sandwiches, to special treats like pizza or deep-fried goodies.

Just be sure to eat your vegetables.
